    Teledyne Relays is seeking a Calibration/Metrology Technician to perform electrical/ electronic calibration on (electrical/ mechanical) measuring and test equipment throughout the facility, maintain calibration records current (track and recall equipment), and keep procedures up-to-date.

    Position Summary and Responsibilities


    • Must understand principals, methods or procedures used with the assignment with the ability to apply them to and allow for schedules/ goals/reports to be completed timely.
    • Must have basic computer skills, Microsoft office and Tip QA a plus.
    • Must be detail oriented and organized.
    • Make supplies/ inventory available for all equipment – learn the functions of each machine thoroughly.
    • Must have good oral and written communications skills to be able to communicate all issues.
    • Identify areas to eliminate scrap/ waste and new areas of opportunity for process improvement for metrology for cost savings.
    • Work closely with Engineering and Production personnel for when problems arise to troubleshoot, move forward and continue manufacturing process
    • Ensure that all department records, charts and logs are sequenced and correctly completed/ monitored/ compliant to procedures
    • Acquire job skills and learn company policies, rules/ regulations and safety procedures.



    • Must be a U.S. Person due to iTAR restrictions
    • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Electronics, preferred.
    • A minimum of two (2) years' of experience working as a technician in the metrology.
    • Must possess strong problem solving skills, digital and analog skills, and the ability to troubleshoot in a logical manner down to component level, and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written/oral instructions.
    • Must have experience utilizing measuring instruments, oscilloscopes, function generators, digital multi-meters and hand tools, such as, hand crimper's, screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers.
    • Must have experience in working from schematics, mechanical assembly drawings and BOM's.
    • Must be able to professionally communicate (both orally and written) to both QA Director and co-workers to inform of issues that come up, discuss resolutions, document or write short correspondence/memos.
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products:  basic knowledge of Word, Outlook; advance knowledge of Excel.
    • PHYSICAL DEMAND: will occasionally be required to stand/walk, hear or talk for instruction or feedback, to lift and carry up to 10 lbs; will be require to continuously sit, to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
    • VISION REQUIREMENTS: Will occasionally be required to determine distance with vision, will frequently use perpheral vision, and will continuously be required to determine depth perception and be able to adjust vision focus
    • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Will frequently be in contact with moving mechanical equipment, and will continuously be working near moving mechanical parts; occasionally will be exposed to vibration, lo-level radiation, fumes or airborne particles (safely below occupational exposure levels); Noise level is moderate.  

    This is a regular full-time position with one of the world's innovative leader in manufacturing Electromechanical/Solid State Relays and Power Controllers, High Power Coax Switches and RF Switching Systems, located in Hawthorne, California. Teledyne Relays may, at its discretion, modify or add further duties not currently listed in this general job description.
