    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

    • Support the Head of Programmes on the management of the project portfolio;
    • Supporting Business Units with Integrated Capture/Delivery Team demands;
    • Apply Change, Risk and Resource management at the programme level;
    • Develop and monitor deadlines, budgets and activities;
    • Manage resourcing conflicts within portfolio;
    • Support the sales and engineering teams with new project cost & time estimates;
    • Preparation and presentation of project portfolio status reports to Head of Programmes and Senior Leadership Team;
    • Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff;
    • Supporting the business in generating successful bids and capture plans;
    • Effective communication of project performance, issues and risks to all stakeholders (and where appropriate manage expectations) for projects;
    • Identification of opportunities for continuous improvements of Project Management process and procedures and support improvement opportunities;
    • Ensuring that the project delivery aligns with company procedures and standards at all times;

    Qualifications

    To be successful, you are likely to have the following experience:

    • Experience of successfully delivering complex projects using recognised Project Management techniques
    • Demonstrable experience of energising teams to meet critical timescales and project delivery within budget
    • Ability to manage customer expectations and avoid unwanted scope creep
    • Proficiency in the use and understanding of Project Management / resource tools such as MS Project and MS
    • Project Server or other enterprise Project Management tool
    • Good understanding of Risk Management and how this is used to manage a project
    • Persuasive and clear communication skills across all levels of the business
    • Strong problem solving capabilities
    • Knowledge and qualification in APM Body of Knowledge, PRINCE2 or PMP methodologies
