Position Summary and Responsibilities

Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the material handler is responsible for supporting the production team by ensuring production materials are available at the work site as required.  This will involve coordination between facilities/maintenance/inventory and production staff team members.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Move received material from receiving to appropriate storage locations while following all safety protocols.
  • Complete daily chemical stocking activity from storage to the FAB pass through.
  • Move required production materials from storage to the gowning area.
  • Routine disposal of shipping/receiving materials.
  • Maintain stock of cleanroom gowning material and PPE throughout the facility.
  • Routinely collect FAB waste and dispose of into appropriate canisters/drums.
  • Collect/labels and coordinate paperwork for disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Ensure that FAB scrap is appropriately stored/labeled and cycled at identified intervals.
  • Ensure storage locations have appropriate labels and are clean/tidy.
  • Assist with routine inventory counts.
  • Backup: May function as the backup shipper/receiver.

Education & Experience  

  • High school diploma, or GED (Required) 
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills (Required) 
  • Ability to lift 20kg, standing/walking for entire shift. (Required) 
  • Ability to work in a team and demonstrates leadership qualities (Required) 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Required) 
  • Experience in a technical manufacturing environment (Preferred) 
  • Familiarity working with chemicals in a warehouse environment (Preferred) 
  • Familiarity with MS excel (Preferred)
