Based at our production facility in Newbury, Berkshire, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join our manufacturing team.

As part of this team, you will get the opportunity to work on a broad range of products where quality and assurance is paramount, while learning new production techniques and developing your own skills.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the production and engineering departments with testing of electronic assemblies at all levels of build
  • Work to the production schedule to ensure that priority is given to manufacturing orders which are to be shipped to customers, ensuring OTD figures are met
  • Use documented procedures to determine the acceptability of manufactured items and advise improvements or errors to management via reject notes
  • Record all required results accurately onto the results sheets in test procedures, in a manner which is legible and can be shipped to a customer along with the goods
  • Maintain good control of product that is in test to ensure that traceability of components and units stay true to what the operating system reflects. This will include but is not limited to serial numbers, batch control and use of consumables
  • Be able to diagnose and fault find electronic assemblies down to component level, then know the steps needed for rework, repair or scrap to take place
  • Testing of customer return units to either re-certify its continued use or advise as defective
  • Be able to build custom test boxes and enclosures using predetermined requirements and components but under limited supervision and instruction
  • To ensure that all equipment that is being used in a test circuit is within calibration at the point of use.
  • Support other test staff and be able to assist with the hands-on build of product with the operations team when required

  • To have a positive and constructive approach to completing tasks and solving problems
  • Have the initiative to ensure that tasks being completed are in line with business requirement and priorities
  • Have a good understanding of electronics, with time served in a test environment
  • Must be able to read and understand test procedures, technical drawings, PCB schematics and bill of materials
  • Must be a good communicator and able to liaise with multiple departments regarding test requirements and outputs


While no formal academic qualifications are required, the candidate will be certified to IPC-610. Training may be provided for the right candidate.

Reading, writing and recording of information related to test procedures and manufacturing orders are daily tasks, so the candidate will need to be comfortable to do this unaided.
