Position Summary and Responsibilities

As a technical expert in the field of hydrographic data processing, digital terrain modelling, bathymetric & topographic data management, engineering analysis, you are the main point of contact with our current and future customers, providing support over email, phone and online resources as well as trainings remote or onsite around the world. Working closely with colleagues from Teledyne Optech you will also become familiar and be exposed to the same tasks within the LiDAR survey industry.


Your main tasks & responsibilities:


Provide first line technical support to our customers

  • Provide software training in the office as well as at client sites primarily throughout the Americas and the Asia Pacific region;
  • Build close working relationships with existing clients;
  • Provide technical support to sales and work to improve internal processes
  • Analyze current client systems and issues, identify technical problems, formulate and demonstrate integrated solutions;
  • Document workflows, operating procedures and technical notes for our customers;
  • You may be called upon to attend international conferences and exhibitions;
  • Provide expert consultancy, once fully experienced within this role.
  • You must be willing to travel internationally (approx. 25-30%)


To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Strong communication skills and work well in a collaborative team or one on one envrironment;
  • A proven ability to respond to client demands in a timely manner;
  • Experience in direct and remote customer interaction;
  • Experience teaching in a class room environment;
  • Exceptional organizational skills and have a strong ability to prioritize and multitask;
  • Ability to quickly adapt to everchanging technologies. 


  • Bachelor degree in Hydrography, Geomatics or related discipline;
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience in the fields of hydrographic surveys will be considered;
  • Experience in scripting languages (Python preferred);
  • Fluency in English and Spanish are essential 
  • Other language skills will be considered an asset
  • Strong social, inter-cultural and communicative skills


The following will be considered an asset: 


  • Knowledge of and/or work experience with hydrographic processing software;
  • Knowledge of the CARIS line of products;
  • Experience with and knowledge of bathymetric LiDAR systems;
  • Knowledge and work experience with RDBMS packages (Oracle / PostgreSQL);
  • Knowledge of e-learning platforms
