Based at our production facility in Newbury, Berkshire, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join our manufacturing team.

As part of this team, you will get the opportunity to work on a broad range of products where quality and assurance is paramount, while learning new production techniques and developing your own skills.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

Assemble and mould high voltage cable assemblies, connectors and components

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Run mould presses to manufacture high voltage assemblies using laid out procedures and work instructions
  • Maintain the machinery and tooling to ensure that they are always production ready
  • Wire prep prior to soldering including cutting, stripping and pre mould treatment
  • Soldering of miniature contacts and connector assemblies onto cable using class 3 IPC-620 inspection criteria
  • Final prep and packing to the high expected standards
  • Keep a very clean environment to ensure our high quality is maintained
  • Work to production schedules and be able to give status updates with expected completion dates to the Team Leader
  • Work with the rest of the production team and be adaptable in order to carry out multiple tasks to ensure site delivery schedules are met

Core Competences:

  • Previous cable / connector assembly and soldering experience in a manufacturing site is necessary to undertake the role
  • Understanding of Engineering drawings and reading of detailed process procedures
  • Good dexterity with a persistent nature
  • A quality led mindset and the ability to write and clearly record traceability information related to the build of product
  • IPC-620 Certified, although training may be provided for the right candidate
  • Daily use, handling and manoeuvre of 5kg mould tools

Qualifications

This is a temporary position. While no formal academic qualifications are required, IPC-620 certification will be needed for the role. If the candidate does not hold this, training may be provided for the right person.

Reading, writing and recording of information will be key to the role so candidates will have to be comfortable with their ability to meet these needs.
