    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Controls’ has an exciting opportunity as a Technician at our Cumbernauld site. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations for Part 145 repair shop by inspecting, testing, troubleshooting and repairing equipment used on aircraft.

    Key Functions

    • Work on assignments that are complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations with little to no assistance.
    • Troubleshoot faults using various types of test equipment e.g., Special Test Equipment "STE", Automated Test Equipment "ATE", data analyzers, microprocessors emulators, circuit testers, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, thermal chambers, and other equipment used in testing and evaluating electronic circuits.
    • Remove and replace resistors, inductors, discrete semiconductors and integrated circuit for troubleshooting purposes.
    • Read and interpret production illustrations (PI), component maintenance manual (CMM), wiring diagrams and schematics.
    • Troubleshooting and fault isolation skills.
    • Troubleshoot to component level analog/digital with little to no assistance.





    • Knowledge of Electronics theory equal to HNC standard
    • Experience in troubleshooting complex analogue and digital circuitry to component level
    • Experience in soldering and/or inspection of high density (fine pitch) SMT and PTH PCB’s to the highest standards of IPC ANSI610/J-STD-001 or previous Mil 2000 spec
    • Good communication skills
    • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Team player with strong initiative to work unsupervised


    • Background knowledge of commercial aircraft avionics systems
