Ths role will be to provide financial support for the Teledyne Microwave & Teledyne ES&I facilities sited in Lincoln, UK. These BUs form part of the newly formed Teledyne Defense Electronics UK Group which also currently includes TDS, Labtech, CML & Reynolds UK.
Ths role will be to provide financial support and direction for the Teledyne Microwave & Teledyne ES&I facilities sited in Lincoln, UK.
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Ø Valuation of inventories and work in progress for the Monthly Accounts pack.
Ø Monthly inventory, sales, and cost of sales accruals and provisions.
Ø Manipulation of data produced by SAP, using Excel spreadsheets where appropriate, to ensure correct analysis and allocation of cost and income in the accounts.
Ø Maintenance of job booking system for time recording.
Ø Monthly creation of Sales and Order Backlog reports by reconciling information from SAP to closing orders on the Sales Order backlog.
Ø Assist in preparation of the weekly & monthly forecast in line with operational information.
Ø Provide advice and assistance in bids and proposals.
Ø Provide and manage financial projects, ensuring compliance to ASC606 rules.
Ø Assist in preparation of UK GAAP accounts from US GAAP accounts in a format that allows posting at Companies House.
Ø Provide and supply internal tax department with any requested information
Ø Work with External Accountants to assist tax calculations & UK GAAP calculations.
Ø Develop models and reports to analyse margins at each business unit.
Ø Assist with information provided to the Shared Service Centre at Chelmsford, ensuring close link with BU.
Ø Analyse and evaluate BU’s strategies to improve on appropriate business matrix such as operational excellence targets (MWC, GIT & EBIT%), whilst supporting SSC with DSO & DPO targets.
Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to;
Ø To be the lead Finance person on-site by providing both financial and management accounting support to the BU.
Ø To assist the TDE UK Group Controller in managing all aspects of the company’s finance and whilst directing the financial strategy of the organisation.
Ø To assist in ensuring accurate production of annual budgets and reports, and forecasts as well as identifying issues/problems for the forthcoming financial year.
Ø Create and maintain a monthly management accounts pack providing results and commentary on monthly accounts for senior management team.
Ø Support provided as required to local General Manager.
Ø Support any strategic direction of the organisation within the Senior Management teams.
Ø To manage all other activities on a day to day basis relating to the Finance Department.
As Teledyne is a US company, compliance under a SOX regime is required. Full adherance to all safety and security requirements must be maintained, as directed by the BU.
· Business partnering, ideally within a manufacturing environment
· Qualified Accountant with 1-2 years PQE, or Qualified by Experience
· Experience of an ERP system – preferably SAP
· Strong excel and analysis skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Proactive and ‘can do’ approach to work
· Team player who embraces change and possesses a continuous improvement mind-set
· Ability to work autonomously in the company
· Driving license and an ability to travel is preferred.
